"Jim," as he was known to most, retired in 1974 from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he moved to Floresville, where he started a small farm with his wife, Eiko. He was an avid fisherman who loved to fish and spent all of his free time with Eiko fishing at the coast.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eiko Thompson; daughters Linda Brammer and husband Greg and Lillian Koenigstein and husband Daniel; son James Thompson Jr.; and grandchildren Rebecca and Madisen Dominguez and Jessica Thompson.
