Ellen Overturf Dunbar of Pateros passed away of cancer at the Brewster hospital on Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Dunbar was born in Sparta, Illinois, and when a young girl moved to Grant County. She was married to Dennis Overturf and the young couple homesteaded in the Mazama district of the Methow Valley.
After Mr. Overturf's death in 1929, she moved to Winthrop and later to Pateros, where she married Robert Dunbar in 1937.
She was a member of the Wenatchee Baptist Church, Alta Rebakah Lodge and the Pateros Grange.
She is survived by her husband, one son, Vernon Overturf of Moses Lake, a daughter Mrs. Merle Freshour of Seattle, three grandchildren, Terry Overturf, Phillis and Robert Freshaur.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Methodist Church at Pateros, Reverend Francis Adams officiating. William Barnes is in charge of arrangements.
