Ester Davis
Ester Davis, 85, of Port Arthur, died Monday at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland after an automobile accident.
A Native of West Lake, La., she was a longtime Port Arthur resident. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland.
Esther Davis was driving a 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier at about 4:45 p.m. Monday when she collided with a 1988 Chevrolet truck, police said.
Paramedics rushed her to Mid-Jefferson Hospital where she later died, police said. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were not seriously injured, police said.
She was thrown from her car. Ester Davis was pronounced dead at Mid-Jefferson Hospital by Justice of the Peace John Borne after the accident, which occurred around 4:44 p.m. in the 3800 block of 75th Street.
Davis was reportedly traveling south on 75th Street and Heatherbrook Trail.
Borne did not order an autopsy in the case, and no charges have been filed in connection with the accident.
She had a daughter by the name of Polly before she married Gandy Davis.
