Lillie Elmore Sitzes, age 92 died February 1 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born in Lewisville, Texas, on August 3, 1897, the daughter of Robert Lee and Martha Alice McFadden Elmore. She married Claud J. Sitzes in Pilot Point on November 24, 1916, where they made their home for over 50 years. Mr. Sitzes preceded her in death in May, 1964.
Mrs. Sitzes was a long time member of Calvery Baptist Church in Pilot Point and also a member of the Nineteenth Century Club.
Her survivors include three daughters, Mary Inez Schertz of Sanger, Betty Ann Prock of Fort Worth, and Joan Alice Jackson of Bedford; a sister, Mrs. Scott Jacobs of Pilot Point, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Services were held at 3 pm Saturday, Feb 3 in Huff/Slay Funeral Chapel in Pilot Point with Rev. Luther Slay officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery in Pilot Point.
Pall Bearers were J. W. Prock, Jr., Bill Taylor, Robert Mayer, Jake Marshall, Paul Sitzes, and Clifton Irick. Honorary Pall Bearers were Col. John G. Campbell, Gene Sitzes, Joe Sitzes, Harold Sitzes, Jim Jacobs, Pat Sanders, Jim Sitzes, Dr. William Pollan, and Barney Gibbs.
