Mr. "Tom" had served as Tishomingo Co. Tax Assessor for several years. Elected to serve as Tishomingo Co., State Representative for the term 1956-1960.

Tom Duncan was not only a teacher and coach but also served as Principal at Dennis.

A long time Educator, teaching and Basketball coach in several Schools in the Tishomingo, Co.

A very highly respected man.

Thomas McCrory Duncan Sr., 89, died Thursday at the Red Bay Hospital.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belmont. He was a retired school teacher, teaching for 30 years in Tishomingo County and served eight years as tax assessor of Tishomingo County. He also served four years in the state Legislature.

Services were held at 2 P.M. Sunday at the first Baptist Church of Belmont. The Rev. Jack Maroon and the Rev. Albert Hamilton officiated. Burial was in the Belmont City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Dulaney Duncan of Belmont; two daughters, Wynoka Martin of Barstow, CA, and Diane Webber of Bethel, CT; two sons, Thomas Duncan Jr. of Canton, MS and Ralph Duncan of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The pallbearers were his grandsons; Mark and Ted Webber, Johnny, Tommy, Bob and Kim Duncan.
