Mrs. Christie was a former Ocala resident. She attended public school in Ocala and graduated from Ocala High School in 1938, then attended what was then Florida State College for Women in Tallahassee. In 1943, she worked for the Department of the Army at Fort Lee, Va., and the Pentagon during World War II. In 1947, she worked for the late U.S. Sen. Claude Pepper, D-Florida; and in 1953, worked for U.S. Rep. Bob Sikes, later serving as his executive secretary until her retirement in 1976.
Survivors include her husband, William McLean Christie Jr., Jacksonville and Arlington; and brother, Herbert Adams, Ocala.
