4 Oct 1907
Gladys Irene, daughter of George A. and Alice Pontious, was born September 22, 1904 and died Sept. 29, 1907. Taken strangely ill on Thursday evening, every effort to save her was in vain, and she passed into the silence, leaving her loved ones bereft and broken.
Gladys was a bright little one, happy and kind, and sunshine seems to have departed with her. But we trust that the tender flower transplanted, may bloom on in increasing beauty in the Father's garden fair. Of the twenty grandchildren of the grandparents Pontious she is the first to be called from the earthly life.
The funeral was at the home in Penfield on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Robt. Morrison and W.L. Joyce, Director, conducting. The burial was in Penfield Cemetery.
