They came to Philomath to an area called Evergreen in 1891, when their daughter Clara was 9 months old. Many of their descendants are buried at this cemetery, and a number of them are still alive and gather there for Memorial Day remembrances. I met 10 descendants today, the oldest one being 94 years old, has been coming there for observance and respect since he was a baby.
