MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Loretta McAndrew, 88, of Maquoketa, formerly of Lost Nation, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa


Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. James Chappel, Deacon Paul Peckosh and Deacon Bob Head officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lost Nation. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.


She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Lost Nation, daughter of John P. and Minnie (Tebbe) Hart. She graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1936.


She married Clement "Clem" J. McAndrew on Feb. 8, 1939, in Lost Nation; he preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1987.


She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lost Nation, a member of the church circles and S-O-L Card Club in Lost Nation.


She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.


Surviving are her children, James "Jim" (Lyn) McAndrew, of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Jane (Charles) Joice, of Sallisaw, Okla., Joan (Ken) Kohl, of Lisbon and Judy Benhart, of Hiawatha; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Colette Peckosh, of Maquoketa.


She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister.
