James G. Spitzer 91 of Pickerington, Ohio former resident of Baltimore, Ohio went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 9, 1931 to the late Oscar and Goldie Spitzer. He was a US Naval Reservist during the Korean Conflict and attended the Ohio State University. James sold insurance and later became a car salesman for various dealerships including Taylor Chevrolet. He was a member of the Pickerington Baptist Temple, a sports enthusiast, the 1989 National Senior Games Gold Medalist in the 1500m Race Walk, and an antique dealer. James was a dedicated and compassionate witness for Jesus Christ. Her leaves a wife, children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a cousin Donna Gene (Milligan) Mauger. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pickerington Baptist Temple, 521 N. Center St., Pickerington, Ohio 43147 with Pastor B.J. VanAman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105.
