Margaret Speed

RANGER -- Margaret Speed, 71, of Ranger passed on Wednesday in Amarillo. Funeral services will be Saturday 10 a.m. at Merriman Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Lively officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery ....

Mrs. Speed was born on June 1, 1932 in Brownwood to George and Mabel (Foster) Ralston. She attended school in Cross Plains. She married Jack Eugene Speed on June 13, 1949 in Vernon. They moved to Ranger in 1962, and she attended Cisco Junior College where sh studied to be an LVN. She worked for Dr. Watkins for over 20 years, also the Ranger General Hospital, and then worked private duty nursing in Ranger. She was a member of Merriman Baptist Church.

Mrs. Speed is survived by a son, David Speed and his wife Joyce of Amarillo; brother, Glenn Ralston of San Antonio; sister, Ann Townley of Graham; grandchildren, Christopher Speed of Ranger and Philip and Kandis Speed of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
