Gladys Gruebmeyer was born April 1, 1918 in Equality, the daughter of Clyde and Lillie Farris Barnett. She leaves her mother of Olive Branch; a sister, Louise Dotson of Houston, Texas; and brothers, James Barnett of Fairview Heights, Alvin Barnett of Caseyville, Donald Barnett of Lockport, Thomas Barnett of O'Fallon, Missouri and Noel Barnett of California.

She married Howard Qualls; he preceded her in death. She then married Ralph Gruebmeyer on Mary 27, 1972 in Cape Girardeau. He survives as does a son, Carl Roger Barnett of Lebanon, Oregon.

Mrs. Gruebmeyer died in the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, where she had been a patient for about three months. She was 58 when she died.
