Rev. Eugene F. Grover officiated and Mrs. Robert Haas, accompanied by Mrs. Joe Steeg, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden." Interment was in Lakeview cemetery with Ervin Johnson, Albert Chouinard, Jim Kimball, Karl Miles, L.W. Hall and Ray Stromberg acting as pallbearers.
Mr. Turner was born Jun 20, 1901 at Afton, Iowa and in December of that year the family moved to Bantry, North Dakota where he attended school and on September 13, 1924 he was married at Towner, No. Dakota to Wilma Estella Gilmore. In October, 1934, the family moved to Aitkin County, settling on a farm in Kimberly. In 1956 they moved to Fleming Township and about a year ago they moved to Aitkin Village. Mr. Turner, along with his sons, operated the Cut Rate Welding Shop in Aitkin and he was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Alfred Christensen Jr. (Mildred), and Mrs. Chester Lowe (Myrtle), both of S. St. Paul, Mrs. Norval Gardner (Dorothea) Newport, Minn., and Mrs. Harry Christensen (Glenna), Aitkin; four sons, Myrle, Hillsdale, Wis., Marlyn, Aitkin, Richard with the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonardwood, Mo., and Larry at home; 3 brothers, Harvey, Anoka, Leonard of Spokane, Wash., and Albert of Riiverton; 11 grandchildren. One son died in infancy.
