Durline Myrtle Barkley, 97, passed to her heavenly home on December 28, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 31, 1926, in Osage County, OK, to Wilce Alexander and Ollie May (Wilson) Spence.

Durline was joined in marriage to James Barkley, and later to Bob Barkley. To these unions were born seven sons and one daughter. The seven sons would later become the "Barkley Boys" by most who knew them. Durline enjoyed canning, fishing, and playing dominoes and pitch. She was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

Durline is survived by: sons, Jim Barkley (Linda), Robert Barkley, Lon Barkley, John Barkley (Connie), Craig Barkley (Mary), David Barkley (Teresa); daughter, Wendy Drake (Hoss); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her two husbands, James and Bob; one son, Paul; one brother; and six sisters.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time the day of the service at Elliott Mortuary.
