Carrie Virginia Bunn, 92, of Corpus Christie, passed away Tues, Aug 15, 2000. Sep 11, 1907, God blessed parents Ernest and Bessie Hamlin with the birth of a daughter whom they named Carrie Virginia Hamlin. She was born in the Pin Oak community of Bastrop County. Seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death. She was educated in Paige Schools of Paige, TX. She professed her hope in Jesus Christ at an early age at Saint Delight Baptist Church of Pin Oak Community, where she was baptized and a member. She married Charlie Wilson in 1922 and they moved to Giddings, TX. To this union, six children were born. She became an active church member in a Giddings Church. Charlie Wilson Sr. preceded her in death. She and her children moved to Corpus Christie. There she met and married L. G. Bunn in Sep of 1952 at Calvary First Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. H. C. Dilworth. She served as Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, and did Mission Service. After retirement they moved to Smithville, TX. Virginia moved back to Corpus Christie when the Lord called L. G. Bunn home in 1987. She remained in Corpus Christie until her service was done and God called her home. Sister Virginia Bunn leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Edna Beaty and Flossie Williams of Corpus Christie, Calantha (Samuel) Tucker of Waco, TX; a daughter-in-law, Jewel Wilson of Corpus Christie; raised as her own were Randy Wilson and Chuck Williams of Corpus Christie; 36 grandchildren; numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews and lots of friends. She loved everyone. A wake service will be conducted 7 p.m. Fri, Aug 18, at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sat, Aug 19, at Calvary First Baptist Church with Dr. C. E. Richardson, Sr, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
