Maurice I. Reynolds, 94, of Whitaker Road, Forestville, formerly of Steamburg and Ellington, passed away Thursday (November 25, 2021) at home after a brief illness and his grand-daughter... at his side, while under the care of Hospice.
Mr. Reynolds was born November 9, 1927 in Sugar Grove, PA., the son of the late Cecil and Edith (Carlson) Reynolds.
Having worked as a young man on various Dairy Farms, Maurice went on to serve in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 during World War II. Following the war, he returned home and was a self- employed carpenter, working for many local construction companies. He retired in 1989 from Blackstone Corporation in Jamestown, where he served as Mill Wright and Welder for over 25 years.
He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Randolph and was a life member of the Randolph Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6533. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his grand- daughter and care giver,..., a sister,... and a brother, Melvin Reynolds, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Edith, his first wife, Phyllis Overturf, second wife, Frances M. (Fowler) Michaelson Reynolds and a brother, Ernest Reynolds. .
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday (December 1, 2021) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, New York 14772. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior from Noon to 1:00 PM. His grand- daughter Rachel Sheldon will officiate. Full Burial will be in the Gerry Hill Cemetery, Gerry, NY.
