She was born in West Virginia on January 11, 1937, to the late Alex and Dellie Hale.
Edith retired from textiles and loved to do anything dealing with crafts. She enjoyed gardening and raising fruits and vegetables. Edith was of the Pentecostal faith and loved going to church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold O. Baker; sister, Lois Vanover; and brother, Walter Hale.
Edith is survived by her son, Steven Baker; daughter, Patricia Davis, and her husband Tom; sister, Shirley Hale Brooks; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service officiated by Rev. Keith McGlammery, will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, 2:00 pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, 28052. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.
