Shirley Marie Carson, was born January 30, 1938, in Marston, Missouri, the daughter of the late George Richards and Eula Mae Hatchel Carson.
On October 19, 1977, in Decatur, Alabama, she was united in marriage to Hershel Alvis. Mr. Alvis preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Quinton Meredith (Lucy Marie Hernandez) of Copperas Cove, Texas; a daughter, Betty Kreher (Willard); a brother, Ronnie Carson of Bernie, Missouri; three sisters, Jeanett Schmieg of Granite City, Illinois, Nora (Joe) Fuemmeler of Rushville, Missouri, and Pam Gandt of Brownwood, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ashley Meredith, Zachary Meredith, Eric Kreher (Stacey), Julia Brock (Scott), and Cassandra Range (Bruce); and two great-grandchildren, Edward Kreher and Clayton Range.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Doyle Richard, Chester Richard, Glendale Richard, Robert Carson, Darrel Carson, and Roger Carson; and a sister, Brenda Owens.
