Jean was born and raised in Providence; daughter of the late Peter and Winifred (Regan) McGarry.
She was a Hope High School graduate; and St. Margaret's parishioner. She worked for the New England Telephone Company, Old Stone Bank, and Rhode Island Department of Human Services.
Jean and her late husband were the proud owners of the former The Irish Pub in Wickford, RI.
She was an active senior at various Senior Centers in Rhode Island and was awarded a medal at the RI Senior Games. Jean loved BINGO, travel, game shows, and the library. She was well-known for her bright smile and infectious laugh.
She was preceded in death by her son, John "Johnny" Gallogly, former husband, John Joe Gallogly, siblings Peter McGarry, Winifred (McGarry) Miley, Stephen McGarry, John McGarry and Francis McGarry, Lt. RISP (Ret.). She leaves behind her beloved family: sister Lillian (McGarry) Chalmers, twin daughters Erin Gallogly (Nick Tatistcheff) and Sheila Gallogly (Brad Barbour), grandchildren Winifred and Peter Gallogly, and many well-loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Due to the pandemic, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, East Greenwich, RI.
