Mrs. Cain was born March 1, 1937 in Palestine to Frank and Velma Wells. She passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in Palestine.
She was legendary for her love of cats. She was a talented pianist who taught piano and was a life long church pianist for Walston Springs Baptist Church.
She retired from Slocum High School after ten years where she taught cooking and sewing.
She was a talented seamstress and owned her own business called Country Ruffles and Bows.
Her hobby was organic gardening and she loved cooking meals for family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alton Wayne Grant; husband Edward Cain; and brother in law Willie Bing Barnett.
She is survived by brother: Kenneth Wells (Sible); Children: Linda Grant, Donna (Jim) Darsey and Steve (Donna) Grant; step daughters: Vanita (Richard) Hodge and Susan (Steve) Leppard;
Grandchildren: Caroline (Aaron) McCullough, Courtney (Noble) Wonsetler, Jake (Madeline) Darsey, Jennifer (Ted) Nichols, Stephanie (Logan) Compton, Alyssa (JR) Flores, Lane Hodge, Sarah (Josh) Morey, Amanda (Jacob) Rogers, Emma (Jaden) Edkerman and Jed Leppard; sister in law: Loyce Barnett; brothers in law Kenneth (Norma) Grant and Bill Grant(Wynel) Grant. She was also blessed with many great grand children.
