Jennifer E. Hankins, age 52, was born January 13, 1971 in Dallas, TX, to her parents, Patricia and Gerald Hitt. She passed away October 12, 2023.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her daughter, Abigail "Abby" Boone; mother, Patricia Hitt; father, Gerald Hitt; grandparents, Edna and Cecil "Tom" Horton; and her grandmother, Syble Barclay. She is survived by her husband, Tony Hankins; son, Taylor Hankins; son-in-law, Justin Boone; brother, Jeff Hitt and his wife, Lindy; granddaughter, Iris Hankins; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Aneta Hankins; brother-in-law, Doug Hankins and his wife, Angelina; nieces and nephew, Lauren Hatcher, Allison Hankins, Ellie Hitt, Macy Hitt and Nick Hankins; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jennifer was a loving wife and mother. She and her husband, Tony Hankins were married on August 21, 1993 and just celebrated 30 wonderful years of marriage. At age 43, Jennifer became a nurse and worked at Parkland Hospital. A beloved RN, Jennifer worked at Parkland Hospital until her cancer diagnosis in 2021. She loved to be in her garden and was known to many as a wonderful caretaker all of her life. Jennifer had a heart to serve. Jennifer battled cancer for over 2 years before joining her daughter, Abby Boone in heaven on October 12, 2023. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation with the family is from 6 – 8 pm, Friday, October 20, 2023 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Services are 11:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at The Avenue Church, 1761 N. Hwy 77, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Interment will follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park, Duncanville, TX.
