Oran J. (Jack) Urban, a resident of Ranger since 1919, died Thursday at 4 p.m. at his residence in the Gholson Hotel.
He was born in Hancock County, Ohio, and married Florence E. Huston on Jan. 1, 1919, in Findlay Ohio. He worked for the Ohio Oil Company in Ohio and transferred to Ranger, where he worked for the same company and later for Chestnut-Smith. He then became an independent oil operator many years ago. He was honored with a chapter in the book by Boyce House, "In the Roaring Ranger".
Survivors include his wife, three brothers; Era E. of Rawson Ohio, Allen A. of Ashley Ohio, Lawrence of Findlay, and one sister; Mrs. Zoa Dorney of Findlay.
Services are pending at the Killingsworth Funeral Home in Ranger.
