Kathleen Alexander Watson of Cisco passed away peacefully during the early morning hours Saturday, July 29, 2023, just four days after her 80th birthday.

Kathleen was born July 25, 1943 in Romney, to Walter and Irene Estes Denton. The couple was doubly blessed that day, as Kathleen had a twin, Charleen, who became Kathleen's built-in best friend. Throughout life, when you saw one of them, the other was not far behind.

She graduated from Cisco High School and worked as an LVN. She was later the owner and manager of the Cisco Cafe. She was known for her civic involvement, being a member of the VFW, Cisco Chamber of Commerce, and Eastern Star. She started the Meals on Wheels Program and The Blessing Box in Cisco. She was actively involved in decorating Veteran's graves on Memorial Day. In 2007, she was awarded the Cisco Humanitarian Award. This was the same year she established the Stacey Watson Memorial Fund, in honor of her husband who preceded her in death January 1, 2007.

In addition to her love for giving back to the community, she enjoyed painting and working with clay.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stacey; a grandson, Cody Morris; nephews Jody, Darrell, Jay, Cliff, and David; and a niece, Tammy.

Survivors include her daughters, Rachel Maxwell, Michelle Speers and Cindy McGee; sisters Charleen Campbell, Pat Ratcliff, Shirley Tucker, Dot Thomas and Linda Russell; grandchildren Mark Speers and fiancé Hanna Stovall, Cade Maxwell and Preston McGee; great-grandchild Charlie Martin Slaton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Solaris Hospice for their care of Kathleen in her last days. Also, a special thank you to Charleen, Kathleen's twin, for taking great care of her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorials in Kathleen's honor to Solaris Hospice or First Christian Church of Cisco.
