Douglas is survived by his daughter Sheila Parks (Karl); and his son Kevin Watson (Carla); his sister Mary Wilson; his grandson Michael Watson and his best friend and caregiver Ona McDonald.
Douglas was preceded in death by his father Douglas Watson Sr. and his mother Vaxine Watson; his brother Bobby Watson.
A visitation for Douglas will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12:30 PM at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Goodwater, Al.
Serving as pallbearers are Bruce McDonald, Craig McDonald, Kevin Love, Joe Love and Mick Love.
Douglas graduated from Bibb Graves High School in 1960. He served in the Army National Guard from 1960 until 1968. He was stationed at Fort Jackson in South Carolina and Fort Sill in Oklahoma. He worked at the Thompson Wydeman Quarry and AD Welding.
