Prominent Aitkin County Teacher Succumbs to Abscess on the Brain
C M. Turner of Rat Lake, who has been ailing for the past two weeks died last Sunday morning, in St. Joseph's hospital at Brainerd. He was taken to the hospital on the Friday preceding in a serious condition. It was found that he had an abscess on the brain and nothing could be done for him.
The body was sent to Rossburg and the funeral services were held yesterday at the Rossburg school house with Rev C. C. Sutton officiating. Interment was made in the Spencer cemetery.
The deceased was born in Iowa and was about 45 years old. He leaves a wife and six children.
Mr. Turner was a successful teacher in the Aitkin county rural schools, having taught in Rossburg, Malmo, and at the time of his death was principal of the consolidated school at Rat Lake in district No. 50. Assistant Supt. R F. Swails is taking his place until a competent successor can be found.
