Mrs. Freida Neil Maxwell Baker, age 94 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Oak View Living Center. Mrs. Baker was born May 5, 1909 at Chamois, Mo. The daughter of Thomas F. and Mary Elisabeth Hensley Maxwell, both deceased. She was married on February 25, 1939 at Versailles, Mo. to Ervin E. Baker, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2001.
Mrs. Baker attended school in Fortuna and Versailles, Mo. prior to moving to Jefferson City in 1931. Mrs. Baker graduated from the Missouri Pacific Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 as a licensed practical nurse. She was employed with St. Marys Health Center for several years. She was a member of Southridge Baptist Church in Jefferson City, MO.
Survivors include: two sisters, Janette Mueller of Russellville, Mo. and Mary Berkstresser of Versailles, Mo.; one brother, Wray Dolan Maxwell of St. Louis, Mo. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Irona Edwards, Vergie Owens, Ruth Stevens and Marjorie Maxwell and five brothers, Paul Maxwell, Eldon Maxwell, Jesse Lee Maxwell, David Maxwell and Albert Maxwell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday July 19, 2003 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Verlyn Bergen officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Southridge Baptist Church or the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Assn. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
