Joann May Solenthaler 83 gained her angel wings on Wednesday May 31 2023. Joann was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Anthony and Gertrude Prete. When Joann was only 17, she met and married the love of her life Donald Dean. She started working at Olympic Plating in 1974. In 1979 Joann helped form the union and later went on to serve as union president. Joanne worked at Olympic Plating until 1995 when they had to shut their doors. She then went to DLH for five years. Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dean; daughter, Sheryl Lynn, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Solenthaler; brothers, Albert and Jack Barnett and sister Norma Jean Wagner. Joanne is survived by, three children, Eddie, Dean, and Harry Jay; grandchildren, Deanna, Demetria, Angela, Brandon and Nick; great grandchildren, Ronnie, Nicholaus, Tyler, and Sienna and numerous nieces, nephews family and friends and her beloved dog Annie. Joann enjoyed spending time with her best of friends Clean Peg, Dirty Peg and Kay. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Joanne just loved her. She was the funniest, laid-back person you could ever meet. If you gave her a good conversation and some coffee with pumpkin spice creamer, her day was made. She absolutely loved Christmas and all of her Frosty the Snowman that she collected over the years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023
