Services for Vera Lynn Cantrell Dye, 62, of Zavalla, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Gina Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Dye was born March 29, 1944, in Roswell, New Mexico, and she passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Dye was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the cornerstone of her family. She was a member of the Full Gospel Faith Church in Colmesneil. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Ray and Karen Tidwell of Mobile, Alabama, Robby and Crystal Tidwell of Zavalla and James Roy and Spring Dye of Nederland; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Gilbert Sanders of Zavalla; daughters-in-law, Mary Ann Tidwell and Melissa Dye; brother, Lonnie Cantrell of Corrigan; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Lori Cantrell of Corrigan; sister, Kathy Hilliard of Zavalla; grandchildren, Patricia, Shay, Raymond, Laura, Thomas, Allen, Michelle, Roy, Terry, David, Ashley, Daniel, Abigail, Andy, Ray Ray, Bryan, Ariel, Aspen and Aslyn; 4 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Dye was preceded in death by her parents, Marion (Jones) and Sidney Trueheart Cantrell; and her husband of 25 years, James Marshall (Bud) Dye, in July, 2004. Pallbearers will be Roy Dye, Robby Tidwell, Danny Tidwell, Raymond Tidwell, Roy Allen and David Michael. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home. Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home, directors.
