Everett worked for a while in the Merchant Marines. He passed away at age 79 at Pearl River, LA on Dec 24, 1998. Pearl River is located across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans. His second wife Cecelia Planas Folsom is buried at the Saint Louis Cemetery #3 in New Orleans.
