Sheryl "Sherry" Bailey Donovan was a longtime former Austinite. Sheryl passed away on Jan 7, 2023, at the age of 73 at her home in Bryan, TX. Sherry was a devoted mother, grandmother, a loving sister, aunt, great-aunt, and cousin as well as a lifelong friend to many.

Sheryl grew up in the Austin and Houston area and was a former graduate of Travis High School.

Sheryl previously worked for the State Comptroller's office and later retired from the state to enjoy her family. In her earlier days, Sheryl assisted in coaching softball, bowling, and always enjoyed interior design, fishing, social events, drawing, travel, and gardening. Sheryl had an amazing touch when it came to gardening. Sheryl could be best described as a woman of many hats but closest to her heart were her friends, family, and traditions. Sherry never met a stranger and was welcoming to all.

Sheryl was also a passionate and loving "Dog Mom" to Ranger, her faithful companion of many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents: JD Bailey, Ann Woodall Bailey, brother Joe Douglas Bailey, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sheryl is survived by her immediate family: her daughters Desiree Donovan Murph, husband Andy Murph, and grandsons Cody, Colten, and Caden Murph all of Bryan, TX. Daughter Jennifer Fulgham and husband Keith Fulgham, and grandchildren Calder and Brianna Fulgham of Johnson City, Tx. She is also survived by her ex-husband Dunny Donovan and his family.

Sherry is survived on the Bailey side by her brother Terry Bailey, in addition to her brothers James Kates and stepbrothers Steve, Wesley, David, and Berry Pearson and their families.

Sister-in-laws Vicki and Candace Bailey, 4 nieces and nephews, and their families. There are also countless loving and supportive cousins, and extended family members.

Sheryl is survived by her sister-in-laws Sherry Rao, Paula Barnes and her husband Jim Barnes, as well as by 5 adoring nieces and nephews and their families.

Family and friends are invited to attend services held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Cook-Walden/ Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Austin, TX.
