I am not sure when people started calling my mother, "Spunky" but the nickname stuck and she embraced it. On Friday, February 17th, my mother, Patricia "Spunky" Foster died at home, at peace, without pain, and in her sleep. She was 90 years old. She was the best mother anyone could ever have. She was a woman of great faith and her faith inspired me my entire life just as it comforts our family and friends at her death.
A brief graveside internment service will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 10:00 in the morning at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn, GA.
A festive celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 11:00 in the morning at the First United Methodist Church in Villa Rica, GA.
Family and friends are invited to both services but in keeping with her wishes, the celebration of life memorial service will be cheerful, uplifting, and lighthearted. Only happy faces will be admitted. Sad faces will be turned away. Casual dress is encouraged and her favorite color was blue.
In lieu of flowers, Spunky requested that donations be made to the Foster Family Youth Fund at the Villa Rica First United Methodist Church or to West Metro FCA.
