Ollie was the daughter of Peter Lafette McDaniel and Emily (Williams) McDaniel.

Ollie was a twin to Pearl.

Ollie first married John Dillard Tanner. No information on this marriage. They had one son.

Ollie married James Lee Swindall on December 7, 1908 in Stephenville, Erath County, Texas. Together they had four children.

1--Ruby Myrtle [1910-1997]
2--Melvin Sylvester [1915-1987]
3--James Henry "Hank [1919-2002]
4--Owen Clinton [1921-????]

Ollie raised the six children that James had with his first wife. Sarah Lee; Silas Lafette; Ira Thomas; Verna (Twin); Vera (Twin) and Minnie Ethel. Information on these children can be found in the Memorial for James Lee Swindall.

Dillard was two years old when his mother and James were married. When he got older, he went to court and had his name legally changed to Swindall.

Sometime after James died, Ollie married a Mr. Wagner. No information on this marriage, but it did not last very long.

MRS. WAGNER
Menard--Mrs. Ollie Swindall Wagner, 88, died Friday at 4:30 a.m. in Menard Hospital.

Services will be a 3:p.m. today in Mission Funeral Home chapel with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. (I was told by her daughter, Ruby, this was a mistake, that Ollie was buried in Garden of Memories).

She was born July 3, 1886 in Comanche. (Another mistake. She was born in Williamson County). She was married December 1908 to Jim Swindall in Stephenville. She lived in Menard County for about 50 years, coming from Denton, County

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Wagner of Menard; three sons, Owen Swindall of Sonora, Henry Swindall of Albuquerque, N.M. and Melvin Swindall of Menard; one step daughter, Mrs. Lee Wickson of Menard; one step son, Silas Swindall of Clyde and one brother, Elzie McDaniel of Weatherford; 26 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

The pictures of Ollie and her twin, Pearl are not good pictures, but it is better than none. The picture of Ollie's headstone was taken by A. Brown. Thanks to you A.

Ollie was a 1st cousin 1 time removed to James Swindall's first wife, Willie Viola Stubbs.

Ollie was my 1st cousin 2 times removed.
