Nathan Haggard Lacy was born 2 March 1822 in Franklin County, Tennessee. He was the son of John L. Amos and Rachel Emory Lacy/Lacey. He married Margaret Ann Carr on January 2, 1844 in Union County, Kentucky. The family was residing there in the 1850 census. His wife died in 1854, leaving him with three children. On September 13, 1855 in Polk County Missouri, he married Mary Jane Williams. The couple had three daughters and three sons between 1856 and 1871. They resided in Box, Cedar County, Missouri in 1860; Jackson, Webster County in 1863 and Van Buren, Newton County in 1870. Mr. Lacy died at the age of 60 on January 8, 1883 in Brownwood, Texas and is buried in the Indian Creek Cemetery in Brown County. His will was probated on February 26, 1883: Texas, Wills & Probate Records for N. H. Lacy, Probate Date: 26 Feb 1883; Probate Place: Brown County, Teas; Inferred Death Year 1883. S. E. Lacy - Estate N. H. Lacy APPLICATION LETTER - ADMINISTRATION. The State of Texas, Brown County - Know all men by these presents that we S. E. Lacy as principal and J. J. Green, W. F. Knight & on __ are held and firmly bound unto the County Judge of Brown County, and his succession in office, in the sum of four thousand three hundred dollars, conditioning that the afore bound S. E. Lacy who has been appointed administrator of the estate of N. H. Lacy dec'd by the county Judge of Brown County shall __ and truly perform all the duties required of him under said appointment.
