Actor, Voice Actor. Best known for his prolific career voicing the DC Comics character Batman/Bruce Wayne. At the age of 18 he accepted a full scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he honed his acting skills alongside the likes of comedian Robin Williams and noted actor Kelsey Grammer. Upon graduation from Juilliard, he began his career in the theatre world when he performed in a number of Shakespearean productions including "Hamlet" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Branching out from the classical schools, he also performed in more contemporary playwrights' pieces, including Edward Albee's 1981 production of Vladimir Nabokov's classic novel, "Lolita." It was shortly after the he transitioned to the small screen where he played in a number of sitcoms and television programs including a role in the smash hit, "Dynasty." Other small roles came in series as varied as "Matlock," "Ohara," "Cheers," and "Murphy Brown." Conroy's best known role came in 1992 when he took up the mantle of one of comic book's most legendary characters; Batman. Starring in the Bruce Timm helmed "Batman: The Animated Series," his work, along with the talents of other famed actors such as Mark Hamill, Ron Perlman, Michael Ansara, Adam West, and Richard Moll, helped earn the series four Emmy Awards including one for "Outstanding Animated Program." A fan favorite, he continued to voice Bruce Wayne/Batman in a prolific number of animated series and video games including the hit Rocksteady studios produced "Arkham Series." His rendition of Batman helped to form the nucleus of what became known as the DC Animated Universe. Two spin off series of "Batman: The Animated Series" came in 1997 with, "The New Batman Adventures," and in 1999 with "Batman Beyond." In addition his voice work could be found across five seasons of the animated series "Justice League," and "Justice League Unlimited." Conroy also lent his vocal talents to the 1993 Warner Brothers animated film, "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm." Though not a critical box office success, the film became endeared in the hearts of its fans, developing a cult following in subsequent years. With his name attached to nearly sixty diverse media projects, many centered on his definitive role of the animated Batman, Conroy cemented his legacy among the voice acting community. For his prolific voice acting career, Conroy was honored with a number of prestigious awards including: The Annie Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement by a Male Performer; Five Behind the Voice Actors Awards; and Play Legit's Best for his work on the video game Batman: Arkham Knight.
