The son of Patrick and Margaret nee Murphy, Cornelius married Ann Jane nee Grimes in about 1832 in Ballygawley, County Tyrone, Ireland. In 1850 with their 7 (seven), children, David, Margaret, Anne Jane, Catherine, Patrick, Maria, and Sarah Agnes, Neil, and expecting Ann emigrated to the colony. Traveling as assisted immigrants the family, with infant Charles Grimes who was born during the voyage, arrived in Port Jackson, Sydney on 16 Apr 1850 on the ship "Elizabeth". Their youngest child Matilda Harriett was born in 1854 in Goulburn.

Amen.
