Leland M. "Lee" Weddle, age 70, of Eau Claire died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Lee was born on Jan. 2, 1938, to the late Sanford and Marguerite (Bierne) Weddle in Sioux City, Iowa. On July 18, 1959, he married Carol Dawson at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Minneapolis. He enjoyed swimming, diving, horses and being at Turtle Lake Casino. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol; daughter, Laurie (Jim) Brantner of Mondovi; sons, Joseph (Linda) of Burnsville, David (Rose) of Peoria, Ariz.; grandson, Zachary; sisters, Lois (Hank) Buletti of California, LaVonne Smith of California, Pat Sherman of Minnesota, Kay (Ron) Simoni of Wisconsin, Judy (Jack) Sadler of California; brothers, Jerry (Linda) of Colorado, Jim (Carol) of Iowa; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Laraine; brothers, Russ and Don.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Evergreen Funeral Home (on Golf Road one block east of Hwy. 93) with Monsignor Edmund Klimek officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
