Angel "Oldman" Acosta was born on June 20, 1950 in Galveston, Texas to Angel Acosta Sr. and Enriqueta "Queta" Acosta.
Angel graduated in the Texas City High School class of 1969 and proudly went on to serve in the US Marines from 1971 – 1973. He was then hired at Amoco where he continued working for 34 years until finally retiring from BP as a pipe fitter in 2005. In 1975 Angel was blessed to marry the love of his life, Alma Leticia Jaramillo and together they built a family legacy worthy of great respect, instilled with selfless love and unwavering family pride.
To Angel, family was his pride and joy. He gladly devoted himself to his loved ones and gave his all to be the greatest husband, father and grandfather possible. Proverbs 17:6 says "Children's children are the crown of old men," which was so true for Angel. He showed his love and support while rooting for his three boys and many grandkids as they competed in sports and beamed with pride watching them grow over the years. He had been known to take three of his youngest grandkids at once, and with the help of his granddaughter Alyssa, even daring to venture off to the movies with them in tow – a challenge most grandads might not even entertain. He could often be found babysitting a number of grandkids from his tribe, that's what kept him young at heart. Even in his twilight years, the magnitude of his heart showed in his and Alma's decision to adopt their great nephew as their own. We are forever grateful for the imprints of love he placed on our hearts and vow to carry on the legacy he leaves behind. Family is everything. Your chair is empty Dad, but our hearts are full.

Acosta, Aiden Acosta, Ayce Acosta, Alejandra Jaramillo, Idalis Torres, Imerie Kelley, Italeigh Kelley, Dominic Kelley, Makayla Acosta, Anthony P. Acosta, Jordan Acosta, Ava Filoteo and one great grandchild, Lily Elizondo.
