Mrs. Mary E. Kane, formerly of South Sherman Street, died in the Lackawanna Rest Home, Ransom, yesterday morning at 9:45 after an illness.
Born in Sugar Notch, Mrs. Kane was the former Mary Barrett. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, South Washington Street, and the Altar and Rosary Society. Her husband, Harry C., died in 1950.
Surviving are sons, Harry Brooklyn, N. Y., and James J., Wilkes-Barre; several grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 142 South Washington Street, Saturday morning at 9. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 in St. Mary's Church and interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call tonight, 7 to 10, and Friday 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m.
