Marty Naleway passed on Sunday, June 5, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. I am convinced his mother came to take his spirit to Heaven as he enjoyed the peace and comfort of home, while I heard the last faint beats of his heart.

Marty was the fourth out of seven children. His family was always important to him, and they remain close-knit to this day. In fact, I was blessed to meet him through his sister Lisa, who was a co-worker, over 34 years ago.
He was a dutiful son to his Mom and Dad, helping them in so many ways, particularly during their later years. He loved his siblings, Sis Karen, Bro Paul, Bro Steve, Bro Jeff, Sis Laura, Sis Lisa and their mates, Karen's super. Intelligent Chuck, Paul's hues of purple Terry, Steve's lovely Liz, Jeff's sweet Sue, Laura's funny man Myron and The "Queen Bee" Lisa's actor husband Eric. He also had many nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Marty.

Marty was also a loving stepfather to my daughters, Wendy and Tammy, and their families, including six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one more on the way.

He lived a great life. He proudly spent 30 years with UPS, retiring 14 years before passing. He loved all aspects of cars, including any car show, in person or on TV. He was proud of his vintage vehicles and loved to show them off. Nothing made him happier than taking his 1985 UPS-colored Westie to Bodega Bay with Cameron and me for a bit of camping. He also loved sports, including basketball, football, and kayaking. He was musically inclined, and loved playing his guitars.

He was incredibly proud of our only son, Cameron. They always had a special bond, since deep down, Marty was always a big kid himself. Cameron wants to pick up playing the guitar again, in his Dad's honor.

Near the end, family, friends and neighbors were able to express their love for our family. Cameron and I are grateful for the helping hands, home cooked meals, family dinners around the dining room table,
and reminiscences of years gone by. We laughed, we cried, we sat in silence. We all loved him dearly. Marty had a infectious smile that will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My heart will forever ache without him by my side.
