Funeral services for John (Tort) Lyon, 92, a resident of Milford for many years, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. yesterday, Wednesday, at the Barker and Son funeral home, with the Rev. Edgar L. Webb, pastor of the Milford Methodist church, officiating. His death at 4:30 a.m. Monday, October 7, 1963, occurred at Iroquois hospital in Watseka, where he had been a patient one week. For the past year he had been a patient in the Clifton nursing home. Burial was made in Maple Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph Parks, Ross Young, George Ducharme, Wilbur Bookwalter, Porter Dawson and Remo Maro.
Mr. Lyon was born November 6, 1870, at Williamsport, Ind. He had resided here for many years and had never married.
His only survivor is a nephew in California.
