Georgia Jean Abel, 73, of Topeka, passed away February 26th 2015 due to complications from heart surgery.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Frederick Abel, daughter Lisa (Bill) Robinson, son David (Sandra) Abel, grandsons Dalton and Garrett Abel, brother John (Amy) Hoffman and sister Debbie (Tom) Foster.

She was preceded in death by parents Vincent and Erma (Bauer) Hoffman, brothers Tom and Bill Hoffman.

Georgia was born June 29th 1941 and spent her life in Topeka.

She graduated from Highland Park High School and retired from the Kansas Board of Regents after more than 30 years of service. Her retirement was spent with her grandchildren, playing golf with her husband and spending time with her many friends. She also worked tirelessly for the Oakland NIA to help bring improvements to the neighborhood where she spent most of her life. She will be greatly missed by the people she touched.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday March 7th at Davidson Funeral Home 1035 N. Kansas Ave in Topeka and the family will accept visitors from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday morning at Davidson Funeral home. The family would like to invite everyone to the Shack following the memorial service. Midwest Cremation Society assisted the family with cremation arrangements.
