Garry Wayne Finchum, 64, of Belmont, met Jesus face to face on Thursday, March 31, 2022. He was born in Forsyth County to the late Walter Demus Finchum and Blanche Jeanette Lynch Finchum. In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Delmus Finchum and his sister, Beverly Lynn Harris. Garry will be remembered as being a perfectionist, especially with his yard work. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Kim, of 35 years; his sister, Libby Stiles; his sister-in-law, Elaine Ferguson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet guests from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Springwood Free Will Baptist Church, 826 Stanley Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, also at the church. A graveside service will conclude at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springwood Free Will Baptist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
