Jean Beck Friday Hofreuter, 93, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at her home in Wheeling, WV.

Jean was born on July 14,1928, to the late August W. and Agnes Beck in Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by her first husband James Peter Friday, and her sister Eileen Pabst.
Jean was a successful realtor for 25 years in Pittsburgh before her marriage to Donald H. Hofreuter, MD of Wheeling in 1989. She was an avid tennis player and life-long fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. She traveled extensively and was active in the Wheeling Newcomers Club. She served as a lay Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Grace Church in Scott Township, PA.
Jean attended Ursuline Academy grade school, and Mount Mercy Academy high school in Pittsburgh. She graduated from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN and earned a M.Ed. from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Surviving is her husband, Donald Hofreuter MD. of Wheeling; two daughters, Carolyn Friday of Sarasota, FL and Janet Friday (Anthony Manganelli), of Severna Park, MD; two step-daughters, Nancy O'Hara (Ken McCabe) of Milford, CT and Elizabeth Hofreuter of Wheeling; five grandchildren: Danielle Gerard, Jodie Manganelli, Jake O'Hara, Grace and Ella Landini; brother Paul Beck (Nancy); dozens of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 5-8 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling WV 26003 (304-232-2732). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11 am at St. Vincent de Paul, 2244 Marshall Avenue, Wheeling WV 26003. Private interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wheeling Country Day School, 8 Park Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.
