Gladys M. Aaron, 95, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in Helia Health Care in Energy, IL. She was born Oct. 28, 1911, in Leachville, AR to John Wintz and Gertie (Hill) Wintz. She married Marshall Aaron in 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1971.

She is survived by a sister, Ora Bea Otterson of Three Rivers, MI.; a brother, Iman Wintz of WA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall; three sisters, Ida Mae Jones, Cleo Myers, Carmen Bozarth; three brothers, Lawrence, Virgil and Harvey Wintz; and a son, Donald Lee Aaron.

She was a member of Northern Baptist Church of West Frankfort. She had worked for many years as a seamstress making wedding gowns. She grew up when times were hard, helping her mother and father with the gardening and canning of vegetables.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home, with Layman James Broshears officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thompsonville. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
