Greg was born on July 9th, 1966 at StLuke's hospital in Houston. He grew up in the suburbs of Houston and Cypress. Growing up he loved baseball and played pitcher for little league. He attended Bleyl JrHigh and CypressCreek HighSchool. He enjoyed spending summers in Trinity with his aunt and uncle where he had special memoris of his uncle taking him fishing. He loved family get-togethers, especially Christmas, which was his favorite and he liked to celebrate Big. As a teen Greg worked at Whataburger. Later he held a job on an oil rig for a while. He also worked at Kenny's Shoe Store and Dillards, then worked management at Morgan Hayes and Johnston Murphy shoe stores. Later he worked in auto sales for several years.
Greg met his wife Rhonda at a church "singles" function through a mutual friend in 1990. They dated and were married on September 14, 1991. In 2005 they started their family by adopting twin boys . Greg's next job was being the primary caregiver for the boys as their "Mr Mom" while Rhonda worked as a nurse. Greg changed diapers, transported the boys to school, and cooked dinner. He was passionate about raising the boys and he took that role seriously. His boys were his pride and joy.
Greg had many hobbies. He was a big outdoor enthusiast and he loved the mountains, particularly Colorado where he and Rhonda went on their honeymoon and spent many vacations over the years. He loved fishing, shooting, hunting and classic cars. He was a "collector" ; knives, guns, flashlights and watches mostly. He loved "researching" different products for himself and his friends. He also loved to cook and try new recipes. He was known for his pulled pork, bbq ribs, charro beans and fajitas. He was crazy about sweets, especially ice cream and Hershey's chocolate.
Greg had a natural gift for music and played the guitar and keyboards by ear. He loved listening to Christian music as well as country music and tunes from the 70's, 80's & 90's from growing up. He enjoyed watching American Idol, X-Factor and America's Got Talent. Greg was a funny guy and he liked anything funny especially when it came to television or movies. He loved old LooneyTunes cartoons, RaisingArizona and O' Brother Where Art Thou, but also loved westerns such as "Gunsmoke", " Jeremiah Johnson" and the "Cowboys" with John Wayne. He also liked Clint Eastwood. But one of Greg's most recent favorite programs that he was passionate about was "The Chosen" series for its depiction about Jesus and His disciples.
Greg was passionate about his faith as well. He had been a member of Lakeside Bible Church for nine years and was baptized there in 2012. His favorite chapter in the Bible was the book of Romans. It was Greg's desire and mission in Life to use his life story and illness to talk to people about the love of Jesus. He was able to endure the nine year journey with brain tumors because of his faith and wanted to tell people how good and loving God is and the peace and comfort he received from knowing Him......
