The funeral of Marie Elvira Williams, 86, a resident of Mattingly Health Care Center, Energy, formerly of 1313 S. Liberty St., Marion, will be 1 p.m. Friday in Paul's Chapel Baptist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. Mrs. Williams died Monday, Nov. 18, 1985, in Herrin Hospital. She was a member of Paul's Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as a pianist for Sunday School classes and as financial secretary. She also was treasurer for the Women's Missionary and Educational Convention of the Mount Olive Baptist District Association. She was a member of the Marion Senior Citizens. Born Aug. 7, 1899, in Marion, she was a daughter of Nelson and Ada Barnett. She married Roosevelt Williams June 2, 1939, in Paducah. Survivors include her husband; an aunt, Ruth Mockabee of Danville; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Barnett, Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Jackson Funeral Home of Carbondale is in charge of arrangements.
