Lela B. Strickland, 83, of Coventry Township, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 1982.

Born in Cullman, Alabama, a daughter of George G. and Emma Royster Pittman, she had lived in the Akron area 60 years. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Akron Baptist Temple. She had retired from B.F. Goodrich Co.

First married to Lonnie Washington Hill in Cullman, Alabama in 1915, he preceded her in death on June 2, 1930. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Strickland, whom she married in 1965.

Survived by a son, John H. (Bud) Hill of Lakemore; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Ferry of Elyria and Mrs. Geneva Bennett of Springfield Twsp.; plus 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maude Reynolds of Orlando, FL.

Services Thursday at 1 p.m. in Akron Baptist Temple, Manchester Rd., with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron.
