Belleville, Illinois - Helen J. Bova, nee Mungle, age 97, of Belleville, IL, born on November 1, 1923, in Danville, AR, died on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.
Helen was an administrative assistant for East St. Louis Urban Water Co., now Illinois American Water Company. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #53, East St. Louis, IL, St. Henry's Ladies Club, Belleville Health and Sports Center and Shiloh School of Art.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Bova, who died on January 8, 1998; her parents, Roland and Maude, nee Duke Mungle; her siblings, James Mungle, Thelma Wolfbrandt, Lee Mungle and Lloyd Mungle; and her sister-in-law, Pat Bova.
She is survived by her children, Michael S. Bova of Fairview Heights, IL and Teresa Bova of Manchester, MO; her grandchildren, Michael (Linda) Bova, Christine (Greg) Hosp, Phillip (Denise) Bova, Amy (Steve) Koehler, and Amanda (Nick) Lussier; 3 great grandsons, Gabe, Lincoln, and Clark; and her brother, Marvin Mungle. Helen is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Kenneth York officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
