Charles H. Adams Jr., 80, husband of Ada Rainey Adams for 58 years, died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday at the Winchester Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

A native of Fayette County, he was son of the late Charles H. and Esther Johnstone Adams. He was retired employee of South Central Bell , a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years, and an Army veteran of WWII, and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte A. and Joe White, Jacksonville, Fla., and Alice A. and Greg Keller, Winchester; three grandchildren, Gregory A. Keller Jr., Winchester, Nicholas Aaron Harp, Fort Myers, Fla., and Jennifer K. Phillips, Winchester; two step-grandchildren, Sean White, Huntington, W.Va., and
Marcy DeSanto, Jupiter, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, 1 sister in law,Georgia Adams,Winchester; and a number of
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Scobee Funeral Home by Dr. John Owen. Burial will be in the
Winchester Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Greg Keller Jr., Aaron Harp, Sean White, Stephen Phillips, Virgil Boler, James Adams and Robert D. Adams; honorary, Gleaners Sunday School Class, Dr. Harold and Debbie Moberly, Bill and Sherry Cantrell, Jim and Shirley Nickell, Kenny Edgington, C.W. True and Ernest True.

Friends may call the funeral home 6-8 p.m. today.

Contributions are suggested to Hospice East or the Gleaners Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
