Ft. Worth, TX - James David Bowden died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007.

Services at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, Southlake with burial to follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.

David was born Jan. 13, 1953, in San Angelo to Mary Evelyn Lacy and Wesley Leon Bowden. He grew up in San Angelo, where he graduated from Central High School. He attended Angelo State University, where he dabbled in photography. After college, he moved to Fort Worth. His photographs were published in Rolling Stone magazine. David later found his career passion in the hydromulch and landscape construction industry, starting Bowden's Guaranteed Hydromulch in 1975.
He was a long-term member of TNLA and served on the Texas Board of Regents. He was president and long-standing member of the Optimist Club and was involved in many Colleyville community projects. The mayor proclaimed Oct. 17, 2004, as David Bowden Day in Colleyville. In 1986, he adopted his precious daughter, Heather. In 1997, he married the love of his life, Lori Neil Robinson, and gained a second beloved daughter, Paige. David and his family are members of White's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors: his wife Lori Bowden; daughters, Heather Amburn and husband, Chad of Bedford and Paige Robinson of Colleyville; brothers, Jerry Bowden and wife, Sharon of Marble Falls and John Bowden and wife, Martha of Maumelle, Ark.; granddaughter, Haley James Amburn; several nieces and nephews.
